When this happens, know that AES is FISHER & PAYKEL-certified to replace faulty parts, when that option is available. In the case of a total recall, and your FISHER & PAYKEL appliance must be replaced, AES is top-of-the-line in FISHER & PAYKEL appliance installation.
We bring to your attention a couple of FISHER & PAYKEL recalls:
- Fisher & Paykel Dishwashers: Owners of dishwasher model numbers DW60CCW, DW60CCX, DW60CEW or, DW60CEX with a Serial Number commencing with the letters FAB9 FABA FABB FABC FAC1 FAC2 FAC3 FAC4 or FAC5 you should stop using the product and contact the company immediately.
These units require a component change within the door latch. This change will resolve a potential issue where moisture could enter the switch assembly. If left unattended, this could result in a potential electric shock for the consumer. AES is Fisher & Paykel-certified to make these repairs. It is suggested that you immediately turn off the power supply of these dishwashers then disconnect from socket and contact AES immediately.
- DishDrawer™ Rotor Recall: Models: DD603 and DS603 – (Serial numbers: Starting with D, C, U, M, B, E, R, L)
Fisher & Paykel sister brand, DCS, also reports a recall of a DCS Oven. First, remember that if you smell leaking gas, first shut it off at its source, call the gas company and then call us. In the case of an emergency, we will immediately dispatch a DCS technician to you, often within minutes or hours of your call.
DCS Recalls: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dynamic Cooking Systems voluntarily recalled 1,500 self-cleaning wall ovens as when the oven is in the self-cleaning mode, the oven’s exterior door temperature exceeds the allowable surface temperature limits under the industry voluntary standard for household electric ranges. Sustained contact with the door during self-cleaning mode could cause burns. No incidents were reported and these ovens come in single or double oven models in three color options: stainless steel, black, or white. The Wall Oven/Single (WOS) models have these serial numbers indicating the date of manufacture in 2003 and 2004 (the blank can be any of the letters A through L): 03_00001A to 03_00155A, 04_00001A to 04_01093A. The Wall Oven/Double (WOSD) models have these serial numbers (the blank can be any of the letters A through L): 04_00001A to 04_00210A.
The serial numbers are located on the oven frame’s left trim post, approximately 12 inches from the bottom. Open the oven door to read the serial number. The ovens were sold at appliance dealers nationwide from January 2003 through May 2004 for between $2,179 and $3,920.
Remedy: Consumers should not use the oven in self-cleaning mode until free replacement doors have been installed. Call the company to make arrangements for free replacement oven doors.
